  • 1. How long can I stay in Taiwan after graduation before I get employed?

    After graduation, NTNU will report to the Immigration Agency the name list of all the graduates, and the ARC (Alien Resident Certificate) will be invalid in 14 days (including weekends). If you want to seek employment in Taiwan after graduation, please contact the Immigration Agency to extend your ARC, the maximum extension period is 6 months starting from the month you graduated.

  • 2. How to keep my National Health Insurance (NHI) after graduation?

    Students who join NHI (National Health Insurance) of Taiwan will only be insured until the end of August after graduation, starting September you will not be covered by the NHI unless you get employed. Please bring your ARC to apply for the NHI at the NHI Administration (NHIA) or your district office.

  • 3. What is the New Scoring Comment System? how can I qualify for working in Taiwan and get a work permit?

    For encouraging foreign students who received bachelor’s degrees or higher level degrees to work in Taiwan, the Ministry of Labor has introduced a new scoring comment system(as below table) since 2014, which qualifies foreign graduates to work in Taiwan by scoring 70 points (or higher). In addition, employers of foreign graduates should meet the “qualifications under employing foreigners for specialized or technical works” (please refer to EZ Work Taiwan), and prepare required documents to apply for the work permit online at https://ezwp.wda.gov.tw.

     

  • 4. Where any of following situations is prohibited during your work in Taiwan:
    1. You have engaged in work, if your employer has not yet applied for a working permit.
    2. You have engaged in work for an employer who is not stated in the Permit.
    3. You have engaged in other work in your own initiative, without being appointed by your employer.
    4. You have been unjustifiably absent from your work and not in contact for three consecutive days.
    5. You have been in serious violation of other regulations stipulated and promulgated pursuant to the Employment Services Act.
    6. You have been in serious violation of applicable laws and regulations in the Republic of China.
